Happy Monday! To kick off the first week of August, we’re visiting Jen in Redding, Connecticut, for a different look at the summer garden through floral arrangements created with what she grows. Here’s what Jen has to say:
I have a flower farm in Redding, Connecticut, where I grow everything organically. Much of what I grow is used for special events and floral work, but lately I’ve also been experimenting with photographing flowers and other things coming out of the garden.
A berry, peach, and plum palette brings together dahlias (Dahlia cvs., Zones 8–11), snapdragons (Antirrhinum majus, Zones 7–10), cosmos (Cosmos bipinnatus, annual), and Dara flowering carrot (Daucus carota ‘Dara’, biennial).
Cherry tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum, annual) share the spotlight with a soft pink dahlia, basil (Ocimum basilicum, annual), and ‘Dara’ flowering carrot.
Sunflowers (Helianthus annuus, annual) and other seasonal flowers from the farm take center stage in this late-summer arrangement.
