A Glimpse of Peony Season in Montana

Hi GPOD! Today we’re making a short and sweet visit to Elizabeth’s garden in Bozeman, Montana (Zone 5a), where she’s sharing a glimpse of peony season earlier this year. Her peonies (Paeonia hybrids, Zones 3–8) were putting on quite a show! Her garden is also home to hydrangeas, roses, delphiniums, and plenty of other perennials, but these gorgeous blooms get their moment in the spotlight today. Let’s take a look!

White peonies, purple flowering perennials, rustic wooden fence, stone garden border, Montana spring garden

Large white peonies with sunny yellow centers brighten this roadside garden bed.

Pink double peonies, lush perennial flower border, flowering peony plants, house foundation garden, Bozeman Montana

And even more peonies! This time, masses of bright pink double blooms fill the garden bed alongside the house.

Thank you for sharing your peonies with us, Elizabeth! Peonies have one of my favorite scents of spring, and one of my favorite flowers. I’d love to know which varieties you have planted! For more inspiration, check out tips for growing peonies.
