To Everything There Is a Season | Letter from the Editor(s)

Greetings, Fine Gardening readers, and happy almost-fall. With the changing season comes a change here at the magazine as well. I’m excited to announce that Carol Collins—a longtime member of the FG team and a knowledgeable horticulturist—is taking over duties moving forward as editor in chief. As for me, I’m transitioning into the role of editorial director for Fine Gardening, as well as for our sister publications Garden Gate and Horticulture. My time with FG has spanned nearly 19 years, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed (almost) every minute of it. I truly can’t think of a better person to pass the baton—err, trowel—to than Carol.

There are exciting things ahead, but for now, I’ll hand it over to our new editor in chief to say hello.

Since joining Fine Gardening as the editorial assistant just over 12 years ago, I have visited and photographed dozens of gardens and worked with hundreds of authors from across the United States and Canada. With this experience under my belt, I can say without a doubt that garden people, including all current and past coworkers at Fine Gardening and our sister publications, Horticulture and Garden Gate, are the best people around. It is always a joy to meet another gardener, and even those of us who are shy by nature are never tongue-tied when it comes to plants. Our editorial team looks forward to helping you discover must-have plants and sharing insights from extraordinary gardens and the experts who tend them. Whether you read the print magazine, visit our website as an All Access member, listen to the Let’s Argue About Plants podcast, watch our YouTube channel, or follow us on social media, we are delighted to have you as part of the Fine Gardening community.
