The New Party Skirt – Julia Berolzheimer

If there was one thing I knew I had to pack for Paris, it was a party skirt (or, if I’m being honest, a few of them). Sequins, fringe, feathers, and embroidery were all over the runways this season, and I love how these details bring movement and texture to even the simplest silhouettes. There’s something so fun about a skirt that catches the light as you walk, and with the holidays around the corner, the timing feels just right.

The best part is that these skirts have a life well beyond the party. During the day, I like grounding an embellished skirt with a favorite cashmere sweater, a crisp shirt, or a tailored jacket. For evening, it’s easy to dial things up with satin, sculptural jewelry, and a statement heel. That versatility is what makes a statement skirt worth reaching for long after December.
