The Violet Shift – Julia Berolzheimer

Outfit Details: Ulla Johnson Dress, Miu Miu Flats (sold out, similar here and here), Pierre Louis Mascia Cape (similar here), Etro Bag

My most recent saves all seem to be landing somewhere on the violet spectrum. Juicy plum, amethyst, aubergine, all the way to the deepest shades of blackberry. Purple has always felt like the kind of color that can transform depending on the mood you want to dress in — romantic, dressy, moody, or playful, all depending on the surface it drenches.

Saturated suede feels slightly retro, while liquid silk lends an evening sensibility, and corduroy places it firmly in fall. Whether it is the color of a full tonal look or just one small flash, purple lends a sense of drama. It’s a shade that makes the transition into fall feel less about putting summer away and more about leaning into the depth, shine, and excitement of what’s ahead.
